To coincide with the publication of the encyclopaedia HABITAT: Vernacular Architecture for a Changing Planet, 3 ideas Ltd initiated, and in some instances coorganised, the HABITAT Events programme. These events are planned to explore different aspects of global sustainable legislation: the Paris Agreement and the Agenda 2020 as well as the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

HABITAT Events are structured around a series of thematic panel debates with participation from various non-state actors from academia, higher education and student communities, the general public, the private sector, technology, research and cultural organisations as well as UN entities.
